Friedrich Frobel Schule project group

What is the project "Seeing and Tasting Creatively" about?

The project involves active cooperation between Garliava Jonučiai Gymnasium, Kaunas region , Lithuania and Friedrich-Fröbel-Schule, Viernheim, Bergstrasse region , Germany in teaching/learning/practising photography, painting and culinary while integrating them into school curriculum or after curricular activities thus developing teaching methodology and practical skills. Participation in the project would help the teachers to exchange their strongest competencies, to acquire more knowledge in methodology and develop practice skills in the sphere of art (photography, painting, design and culinary) and finally make the schools more aesthetic. Alongside with that, they will develop their communicative and foreign language competencies together with digital literacy and usage of other modern technologies.
The students will be given a unique possibility to participate in mixed group learning sessions and to improve their artistic skills, gain inter-cultural competences. The project is mainly based on the development of students' artistic skills. Garliava Jonuciai Gymnasium can praise for its highly qualified art teachers and students' achievements in different regional, national and international art competitions, mainly in painting. However, there are always students who want to realize themselves in photography but the school cannot provide them with the possibility of professional guidance in this sphere. The cooperation with Friedrich-Fröbel-Schule, Viernheim  could help solve this problem. During the second year exhibitions of the best  students' works will be held in either participant country. Finally, a book with the best photographs and paintings will be designed and released.
In culinary, it is planned to focus on the acquaintance with each other's national cuisine, exchange of recipes and cooking the products. The process of cooking and the final product will be photographed as well. The recipes and the photos will finally be included in a cookery book which will be later used as a teaching tool.

 Participants

Erika
Hi there! I'm Erica and I'm 15 years old. Why do I participate in this project? Well, I really want other countries and cultures to know better our Lithuanian culture and keep good  communication between us.

Now a bit about me :)  I'm a friendly and kind of brave person, I really love communicating with other people, I like to discover new things and a lot of other activities. My hobbies are listening to music, reading books, painting, dancing (actually it's more like priming in front of the mirror :D), watching films... And yea, I really love laughing too.... So it won't be sad with me, I PROMISE :D But choices for hobbies aren't so ordinary, for example, if we take music, I love the 80s, chill, sometimes alternative, a bit of pop and more. But I really can't stand electro, dub step, heavy metal and something like that. And I don't usually read books without love; I believe that love should be everywhere!

I hope we'll find something in common between us and become good friends :)
Can't wait to meet you and show the most beautiful and interesting places of the city I live in.

Akvilė
Hi everyone! My name is Akvile Cepurnaite and I’m 14 years old (almost 15 :D). I live with a lovely family: mum, dad and 2 younger sisters. They are very friendly and smart people. I love dancing and singing (especially with my best friend,  anywhere and anytime). I listen to almost all types of music: rap, pop, disco and others. Also, I sometimes play the guitar.  I like sports too.  I play tennis and I really love to play with Kinect. It will sound strange, but I really like going to school too. Why? Because there are almost all my friends!
What about my character? Almost no is one fed up with me so I think I’m funny and I can cheer people up when they are sad. I think I’m smart too, because my marks are very good.  Also, I’m sweet and very kind, if I want: D. Sometimes I act like a kid and sometimes I can be very rude, but I’m trying to shake off this bad character trait. I’ve joined this project to improve my English skills, make some friends and have a good time!!

I think that it’s enough information about me! J

I’m Viktorija Kumpikaitė. I’m 15 years old. I don‘t like to talk about myself  a lot. I‘m a bit shy but in some situations I am  very brave. It is quite strange, but it is true. I am quite shy in communication  with other people or if I need to go to perform on a stage alone. However, I am not afraid to stay alone in the forest house. I like to participate in the beaver hunting, but I don’t hunt myself.  I like fishing,  swimming, shooting,  ice-skating, skiing, and climbing rocks but I‘ve never been to mountains for sports. Moreover, I have more hobbies.  I like traveling, surfing the net, origami, reading books, drawing, listening to music and watching films. I like rock, such bands as Muse, AC/DC, Nirvana, Milky Chance. I have been to the USA, Egypt, Turkey, Germany, Croatia, France, Austria, Chezhia, Poland, Italy,  Malta, Great Britain, Latvia, Estonia and Finland. My favorite city is Istanbul. I like to know new cultures and countries, therefore during this project  I hope to find new friends, to learn something more about Germany, to gain more self confidence and  to improve my English too.

I hope you will  like Lithuania and our traditions.

I love creative work and working  with other people. I go to art school, sing in a school choir and work for the school  newspaper. Gabija

Hi! My name is Gabija. I‘m 15 years old.
I have many hobbies; one of them is reading books.  And I LOVE reading them! I love that feeling, when you’re back in reality but still feel like you’re in a different world. I also like writing. I write not only some kind of stories, but also poems.  I like taking photos, drawing and playing in the school theatre. I love listening to music. I can listen to all kinds of music, but my favorite music styles are rock, alternative rock and indie... You have already noticed that I like doing much.  That’s maybe my biggest problem because I have so little free time just lying, watching TV or ... doing nothing...
You probably will ask me why I am in this project? I would answer - I like to try new things, to gain new experience, get new challenges, and I have always wanted to gain more experience in communicating. Now I have a chance. Also I want to familiarize with other people from different countries and cultures, to get acquainted with different cultures, lifestyles and customs. And, maybe, to find few friends. That would be amazing! And I want to learn English better.
I wish this project continued not only throughout these two years’ term, but much longer. I hope that our correspondence will give us a good time and also I hope we’ll all become friends. That’s my biggest wish.
I can’t wait! I hope we’ll have common things to talk about.
